A Calm Cat Transport-Day Routine
Transport day is easier when everyone knows the carrier, route and safety plan before leaving.

Begin with a comfortable setup
Prepare the carrier, absorbent liner if needed, familiar scent item and appointment details ahead of time.
Put the equipment away when the cat is not participating, and choose a time without visitors or loud activity. Practice should feel predictable, never like a surprise procedure.
Practice at your cat's pace
Signs to slow down
Never transport a cat loose or leave them unattended in a car. Urgent illness takes priority over a training routine.
Notice the small changes
Note which item or touch was introduced, the distance, the duration and whether your cat remained relaxed. Return to the same easy starting point next time. If the cat was unsure, reduce the intensity and allow extra time.
What should I do if my cat won't enter the carrier?
Do not delay urgent care; ask the veterinary clinic for immediate safe handling advice.
