Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Policy applies to information processed through the Services, whether you access Meawys through a browser, mobile device, or another supported platform. It also applies when you contact support, communicate with a trainer through Meawys, participate in a promotion or survey, or otherwise interact with us.

This Policy does not govern independent websites, applications, or services operated by third parties, even when they link to or integrate with Meawys.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Account information: name, email address, username, password or authentication credentials, profile details, and account preferences.
• Cat and training information: your cat’s name, age, breed, behavior concerns, routines, goals, lesson activity, calendar entries, progress, notes, and other information you choose to add.
• Trainer and support communications: messages, questions, attachments, photos, videos, feedback, and other content you send through trainer chat or customer support.
• Transaction information: subscription type, purchase history, billing status, refunds, and limited payment-related details. Payment card information is generally processed by our payment providers and is not stored in full by Meawys.
• Marketing and survey information: preferences, responses, testimonials, contest entries, and information submitted through promotions or research.

Information collected automatically

• Device and technical data: IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, app version, language, time zone, mobile identifiers, and similar technical information.
• Usage data: pages and screens viewed, lessons opened or completed, features used, buttons selected, referral URLs, session dates and duration, errors, crashes, and diagnostic logs.
• Cookie and similar technology data: identifiers and activity collected through cookies, pixels, SDKs, local storage, and related technologies.
• Approximate location: a general location inferred from your IP address. We do not collect precise device location unless a feature clearly requests it and you grant permission.

Device permissions

Depending on the features you use, the app may ask for permission to send push notifications or access photos, media, the camera, or the microphone. You control these permissions through your device settings.

3. Sources of Information

We collect information directly from you, automatically from your device and use of the Services, and from service providers that help operate Meawys. We may also receive limited information from app stores, payment processors, social-login providers when you choose that option, analytics providers, advertising partners, or another user who interacts with you through the Services.

4. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

• Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure your account.
• Provide guided cat-training lessons, personalized recommendations, calendars, reminders, routine tracking, progress tools, and trainer-chat features.
• Connect your questions and submitted content with Meawys trainers and support personnel.
• Process subscriptions, purchases, renewals, refunds, and related records.
• Send service messages, account notices, security alerts, push notifications, and support responses.
• Personalize and improve the Services, measure feature performance, conduct research, and develop new products.
• Send marketing communications where permitted and honor your communication preferences.
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, prohibited conduct, and technical problems.
• Comply with law, enforce our terms and policies, resolve disputes, and protect the rights and safety of Meawys, our users, cats, trainers, and others.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate business interests, comply with legal obligations, and obtain consent where required.

5. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information to the following categories of recipients:

• Trainers and support personnel who need relevant account, cat, training, or communication information to provide the requested service.
• Service providers that host data, process payments, deliver email or notifications, provide analytics, customer support, security, fraud prevention, or other operational services.
• App platforms and integration partners when needed to distribute the app, complete purchases, authenticate users, or provide a feature you request.
• Professional advisers and authorities when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, investigate misconduct, protect safety, or establish and defend legal claims.
• Business transaction participants in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
• Other parties at your direction or with your consent.

We do not sell personal information for money. If our use of advertising technologies is considered “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or a “sale” under an applicable U.S. state privacy law, you may exercise the opt-out rights described below.

6. Trainer Chat and User Content

When you use trainer chat, trainers and authorized Meawys personnel may access the messages, cat information, photos, videos, and other materials you submit so they can answer questions, provide training support, maintain quality and safety, resolve complaints, and improve the Services.

Do not send information you do not want processed for these purposes. Trainer guidance is educational and is not a substitute for veterinary diagnosis, treatment, or emergency care.

7. Payments and Subscriptions

Purchases may be processed by third-party payment providers or an app store. Those providers collect and process payment credentials under their own privacy policies. Meawys may receive transaction identifiers, subscription status, product purchased, price, billing country, and limited account information needed to confirm and administer your purchase.

8. Cookies, SDKs, and Analytics

We and our service providers may use cookies, software development kits, pixels, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, understand usage, improve performance, measure campaigns, prevent fraud, and maintain security. You may control cookies through your browser and mobile permissions through your device settings. Blocking some technologies may affect the Services.

Where required, we will request consent before using non-essential cookies or similar technologies.

9. Your Choices and Controls

• Account: review or update available profile information in your account settings.
• Emails: use the unsubscribe link in a marketing email. We may still send essential account and service messages.
• Text messages: reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help where SMS is offered. Message and data rates may apply.
• Push notifications: turn them off in your device settings.
• Device permissions: change camera, photo, microphone, and other permissions in your device settings.
• Account deletion: use an in-app deletion option if available or email support@meawys.com.

10. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain your account, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with tax, accounting, legal, and regulatory duties, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and why we use it.

When information is no longer needed, we may delete, de-identify, or securely isolate it until deletion is possible. Information may remain temporarily in backups or where retention is required by law.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and notify us if you suspect unauthorized account access.

12. Children’s Privacy

The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Meawys, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Parents or guardians should supervise any use of Meawys by a minor.

13. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state and subject to legal exceptions, you may have the right to request access to personal information, correction, deletion, a portable copy, or information about our collection and disclosure practices. You may also have the right to opt out of targeted advertising, certain profiling, or the sale or sharing of personal information, and to appeal a denied request.

To submit a request or appeal, email support@meawys.com with the subject “Privacy Request.” Describe your request and the state where you reside. We may verify your identity and authority before responding. An authorized agent may submit a request where allowed by law, subject to proof of authorization. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

Browser-based opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control, will be honored where required and where our systems can reasonably recognize the signal.

14. California Privacy Notice

During the preceding 12 months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers; customer-record information; protected characteristics you voluntarily provide; commercial information; internet or electronic-network activity; approximate geolocation; audio, visual, or similar content you submit; and inferences based on your activity and preferences.

We collect and use these categories for the business and commercial purposes described in Sections 3 and 4 and may disclose them to the categories of recipients described in Section 5. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about consumers.

California residents may request to know, access, correct, or delete personal information and may have the right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information for money. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. California residents may also request information under the “Shine the Light” law regarding certain direct-marketing disclosures.

15. International Users

Meawys and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where privacy laws may differ from those in your location. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers and honor applicable rights concerning access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, portability, consent withdrawal, and complaints to a data protection authority.

16. Third-Party Services and Links

The Services may contain links to third-party sites or integrate with app stores, payment providers, login services, analytics tools, or other platforms. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices. We encourage you to review them before providing information.

17. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy as the Services or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date shows when the latest version became effective. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice through the Services, by email, or as otherwise required by law.
